Hammer Films Goes 3-D

Hammer Films logoLegendary British production company Hammer Films has announced their first foray into 3-D filmmaking.  According to a recent press release, Hammer’s new ghost story, The Woman In Black, will be directed by James Watkins and shot in 3-D.  The Woman in Black is based upon the best-selling novel of the same name by Susan Hill, and is set to begin production this fall.

“[Director] James Watkins has a huge fanbase from his award-winning suspense horror Eden Lake.  [Screenwriter] Jane Goldman thrilled audiences worldwide with her script for Kick-Ass, and Susan Hill’s extraordinarily chilling novel has won over readers everywhere,” says Simon Oakes, CEO of HammerFilms.

Here is the new trailer for the upcoming George Romero film Survival of the Dead, thanks to the folks at IGN.  The sixth film in Romero’s Dead series, this film is shot in traditional cinematic style (forget the shaky-cam nonsense of Diary of the Dead) and is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States May 28, 2010.
