Three years after a bit part in Rudy Ray Moore’s Avenging Disco Godfather, Keith David landed the memorable role of “Childs” opposite Kurt Russell in John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982). Carpenter cast him again six years later, opposite “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, in They Live (1988). He wouldn’t return to horror until the 2000 release Pitch Black.
In addition to well-known roles in disaster flicks Armageddon and Volcano, David also has an impressive roster voice-acting in cartoons. Following a two-year stint on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in the early 1980’s, David has gone on to voice roles in Hercules, Tarzan, Spider-Man, Justice League, Teen Titans and Spawn.
